Project Overview
A Saudi Arabian government giga-project is developing the first phase of a world-class film and television studio complex as part of the Kingdom’s broader national entertainment agenda. The initiative is designed to position the country as a premier destination for high-end international production, featuring self-contained studio clusters supported by adjacent workshops, expansive filming backlots and production accommodation. The project aims to build a globally competitive production ecosystem aligned with Vision 2030.
Our Role
Globa 3 provided peer-to-peer review of the companies engaged in designing and constructing the studio complex. This included assessing studio designs, operational systems, and technical submissions to ensure alignment with regional market realities and international industry standards. We also contributed to the project’s business plan and long-term strategic roadmap, ensuring the model was commercially viable, scalable and future-focused.
Key Outcomes
Our work informed a successful business model tailored to Gulf production workflows; strengthened the authority’s evaluation of contractors and ensured the strategic framework reflects global studio standards and the converging future of entertainment.
Stakeholders
Saudi Arabian government authority, UK studio design consultants Lambert Hughes Smith.
